Eligibility Criteria
- An athlete must be nominated, and the nomination be accepted by the Sports Darling Downs
committee.
- Nominees must reside in the Darling Downs region and/or be an active member of a club or
association in their chosen sport in the Darling Downs region in the year of nomination.
- Nominees unable to compete in their chosen sport in the above region and having to
travel to compete will be given consideration for assistance by the Sports Darling Downs
committee.
- Juniors who have to leave their home base for AIS or similar programmes may still be
eligible for assistance.
- Nominees for a Junior award must be aged less than 18 at the end of the nominated year.
- A Monthly Award can only be won once by each individual in any sport in the nominated
year.
- If you are nominating a Para Athlete, the athlete’s Classification is required.
- Funding for local Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes may be available at the
discretion of the Sports Darling Downs committee. This funding will be available to athletes
whose nomination has been received and accepted by the Sports Darling Downs committee no
more than three (3) years prior to the Olympic or Commonwealth Games.
- These criteria are set down as a guide only. The final decision will be at the
discretion of the Sports Darling Downs committee.
IMPORTANT:We are currently experiencing difficulties receiving some nominations. We are investigating the cause of
this, but until we can pinpoint the problem, we ask that you forward a copy of your confirmation email
to sportsdd@bigpond.com.au, so that we can be sure of receiving your nomination, one way or the other.
