Quarterly Incentive Awards for April - June 2023

             
    Arabella Knopke   Touch Football Arabella is a member of the Toowoomba Twisters Under 12 Touch Football team. She has been selected in the Queensland Under 12 Girls Touch Football team to compete at the National Championships at Cairns in May.
     
     
    Zoe Pietsch   Athletics Zoe ran an 8 second personal best time to make the final of the Under 15 Girls 800m at the Queensland Athletics Championships. This qualified her for the Queensland team to compete at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in April. Zoe also competed at the Queensland Little Athletics Championships in Townsville where she placed 5th & 6th in the 400m & 800m respectively. This year Zoe broke the 400m, 800m and 1500m records at her school athletics carnival, all of which had stood for more than 30 years.
     
     
    Judah Magarey   Track and
Cross Country
In May, Judah won the Boys 10 years cross country race competing for his school Toowoomba East State School at the Queensland All Schools Cross Country Championships at Victoria Park, Herston. At the Queensland Little Athletics Championships Judah won the gold medal in the Boys 10 years 800m. He also broke a 36 year old Darling Downs record in the 400m at the Little Athletics Regional Championships.
     
     
    Isabella Kings   Swimming From her performance at the Queensland State School Swimming Championships, Isabella has been selected in the Queensland team to swim the 200m breaststroke at the 2023 Australian School Swimming Championships to be held in Sydney in August. Isabella competed at the Australian Age Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast in April where she made her first A National Final, placing 8th in the 200m breaststroke. She also competed at the Australian Open National Swimming Championships and although didn’t swim as fast as she had hoped, was honored to swim against the top athletes in her sport.
     
     
    Jack Hollist   Disability Cricket
and Swimming
Jack played in the Disability Queensland Outdoor Cricket team at the State Championships in Brisbane where the team came 4th. Jack was the 3rd highest run scorer for Queensland throughout the tournament. Jack also plays cricket for Railways Cricket Club and he was the player to take the most catches for the season. Jack also swam for Darling Downs in the multi-class competition at the Queensland School Sports Championships in Brisbane. He is on standby for the Queensland swim team later in the year.
     
     
    Hayden Macready   Hockey Hayden gained selection in the Under 15 Boys Queensland Maroon Hockey team to compete at the National Championships in Darwin. He has also been selected in the Darling Downs 13-18 Boys Hockey team to compete at the Queensland Schools Hockey Championships. Additionally Hayden has been selected in the Toowoomba Under 18 Boys Team 1 to compete at the State Under 18 Championships in Townsville in May.
     
     
    Belinda Slatter   Para Athletics At the Queensland Athletics Championships, Belinda won the gold medal in the Para 400m and long jump, a silver in the Para 100m and 200m, and a Bronze in the Para shotput. At the Australian Athletics Championships Belinda received a Seasons Best in the Para 200m and was close to a seasons Best in the Para 100m. Belinda has been selected to represent Australia at the Virtus Global Games in Vichy, France in the Heptathlon and 100m Hurdles.
     
     
    Demetrius Christodoulou   Rugby Union Demetrius has been selected in the Queensland 2, 17-18 Years Boys Rugby Union team to compete at the Australian Rugby Union Championships at Merrylands NSW in July. He has also received an invitation to trial for the Queensland Reds Under 18 team.
     
     
    Maddox Jackson   Softball and
Hockey
In the sport of Softball, Maddox has gained selection in the Toowoomba Under 14 team and the Queensland Under 14 team. In the sport of Hockey he has gained selection in the Queensland Under 12 Schoolboys team and the Queensland Under 13 Boys Hockey team, the Sabres.
     
     
    Maeve Moore   Swimming At the Queensland State School Swimming Championships, Maeve won the silver medal in the Girls 11 Years 50m breaststroke. Medaling at this event secured her a spot on the Queensland team to compete at the Australian School Sport Swimming Championships at Sydney Olympic Park in August. At the Darling Downs Regional Swimming Association Championships Maeve set a new regional record in the 10 years Girls 50m Freestyle with a time of 31.50 sec. and was named Regional 10 years and under Sprint Champion.
     
     
    Stella Suey   Hockey Stella was a member of the Queensland Under 15 Girls Hockey team which won the National Under 15 Championships at Darwin in April. She is a member of the Toowoomba Under 18 Girls Hockey team and Darling Downs Open Schoolgirls team.
     
     
    Zander Jackson   Softball From his performances in the sport of softball at local and regional levels, Zander has been selected in the Queensland Country team to compete at the Australian Under 14 Regional Championships in July at Redcliffe. He has also been selected in the Australian Under 14 Boys Softball teams.
     
     
    Bobbie Hamlet   Hockey Bobbie has been selected in the Queensland Hockey Under 19 Women’s team to compete at the National Championships in Hobart in July. She has also been selected in the Queensland Under 19 Schoolgirls Hockey merit team.
     
     
    Ryleigh Parsons   Swimming From her performance at the Darling Downs School Sport Swimming Championships, Ryleigh qualified to compete at the Queensland School Sport Swimming Championships in the Girls 16 years 50m & 100m freestyle, 50m & 100m backstroke, 200m Freestyle, backstroke & medley relay. These results have qualified her to compete at the National School Sport Championships at Sydney in August. Ryleigh has also competed at the National Age Swimming Championships in 2023.
     
     
    Chloe O'Rourke   Football and
Futsal
Chloe has been selected in the Darling Downs Under 15 Girls Football team to compete at the Queensland Championships at Brisbane in May. She has also been selected in one of the two top sides to compete in the local competition and plays for the Highfields Women’s Football team. In the sport of Futsal Chloe has been selected in the Queensland Under 15 team to play at the National Championships in September. Before this she will represent Australia in Futsal when she tours Brazil in August.
     
     
    Oliver Colthup   Mountain Biking At the 2023 Downhill Under 17 Mountain Biking Championships held at Thredbo NSW, Oliver won the bronze medal. He followed this up in Round 1 at the UCI Enduro World Cup Under 17 Amateur Championships at Maydena, Tasmania with a silver medal. He then topped this by winning the gold medal at the Oceania DH Under 17 Championships with a time that placed him 2nd in the Under 19 UCI Championship category. He has also placed 1st five times, a 2nd and a 3rd at various championships and competitions.
     
     
    Emma Bradbury   Hockey and
Futsal
From her performance at the Regional Under 18 Futsal Championships, Emma was selected in the Queensland West Under 19 Girls Futsal team to contest the National Schools Titles in September at Brisbane. In the sport of hockey Emma was selected in and named co-captain of the Darling Downs 13-19 Years Girls Hockey team to compete at the Queensland Schoolgirls Championships. At the conclusion of these championships Emma was named in the Under 18 Queensland Merit Team.
     
     
    Jasmine Whittingham   Football and
Futsal
In 2023 Jasmine has been playing for the SWQ Thunder NPL Under 17 Girls Football team and was a member of the Darling Downs Under 19 Girls Football team which came in 5th position at the State Championships. From her performance at the National Schools Futsal Championships in 2022 Jasmine was selected in the Australian Under 17 Girls Futsal team to play in the USA in July 2023 at the National Futsal Championships in Las Vegas.
     
     
    Cameron Stein   Tenpin Bowling At the Sydney Youth Cup Tenpin Bowling tournament, Cameron placed 2nd with an average of 231. He also came 2nd at the Queensland Youth Masters Championships and 3rd at the Queensland Open Masters Championships. At the 2023 Under 28 SEQ Shield he was named the All Star winner with a near perfect game of 299.
     
     
    Bowie Ingram   Touch Football Bowie co-captained the Darling Downs Under 12 Boys Touch Football team at the Queensland Championships. He scored a team high of 14 tries at this tournament. From this performance he was selected in the Queensland Schoolboys Under 12 Touch team to compete at the National titles in Darwin in August. In 2023 Bowie has also represented the Toowoomba Twisters and South West Emus in Touch.
     
     
    Georgina Greig   Hockey and
Indoor Hockey
Georgina has had a very successful year so far in the sports of Hockey and Indoor Hockey. In the position of goalkeeper she has been selected in the Queensland Indoor Hockey Under 21 Team 2 and the Queensland Open Women’s Country team for Outdoor Hockey.
     
     
    Dominic Hanssen   All Abilities
Touch Football
Dominic plays in the Toowoomba All Abilities Touch Football competition and played for the Twisters All Abilities Touch team in the Queensland Cup at the Gold Coast. He has also participated in the Swans All Abilities Touch team B in the National Touch League at Coffs Harbour.
     
     
    Tom Campbell   Hockey Tom was a member of the Toowoomba Under 18 Boys Team 1 which won the title of state champions at the Queensland Under 18 Championships. From his performance at these championships Tom was named Player of the Tournament. He was also a member of the Darling Downs Under 19 Men’s Hockey team who won the state titles at the Queensland School Sport Hockey Championships. He has been selected in the Queensland Under 19 Schoolboys Merit team.
     
     
    Brandon Spain   Muay Thai In May, Brandon fought well respected, world ranked Thai fighter Daporasuk at the Nai Khanonm Tom Challenge at the Gold Coast. Brandon won this fight with a first round knock-out. Winning this prestigious title has placed Brandon as number 18 in the WBC rankings.
     
     
    Sade Ferguson   Water Skiing Sade is presently the National slalom, jump and overall waterskiing champion and is ranked No. 2 in trick waterskiing. She has been selected in the Australian World Team to compete at the Under 21 World Championships in Mexico in June and will also compete at the Open World Team Championships in Orlando USA.
