Quarterly Incentive Awards for January - March 2022

             
    Bridie Nicol   Softball After her performances in the Darling Downs 13-19 years Girls Softball team and the Toowoomba Under 18 Girls Softball team, Bridie has gained selection in the Queensland School Sports 13-19 Girls Talent Squad and the Queensland Under 16 Girls Softball team.
     
     
    Lewis Lamble   Athletics At the 2021 Queensland All Schools Athletics Championships, Lewis won the gold medal in the Boys 12 Years 100m and 200m.
     
     
    Kehan Edwards   CrossFit Kehan has qualified in the 16/17 years division to compete at the Torian Pro CrossFit event at the Pat Rafter Stadium in Brisbane. This CrossFit event comprises dedicated elite athletes from Australia and the Oceana Region including New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Fiji and Samoa, and only the top eight of this region get to compete.
     
     
    Anne Elliott   Cycling In January this year Anne won two Australian Road Racing Championships. The first was the Australian Time Trial Masters Road Championships MW5 where she won the gold medal and became the Australian Champion and the second was at the Fed Uni Road Racing Nationals Team Time Trial WMN 150 Category where she also became the Australian Champion. Anne is expecting to travel to Italy in September to represent Australia as the current Champion of this category. We recognise and congratulate Anne not only on her athletic merit but also as an inspiration to female athletes of all ages.
     
     
    Hailey Warhurst   Hockey Hailey has been selected as goalie for the Queensland Under 15 Girls Hockey team to compete at the Australian Under 15 Girls Hockey Championships in April at Newcastle.
     
     
    Bethany Casey   Heptathlon Bethany won the silver medal in the Girls Under 16 age group at the Queensland Heptathlon Championships. From this performance she was selected in the Queensland team to compete in the Under 16 Girls Heptathlon event at the National Combined Championships in February at Sydney Olympic Park.
     
     
    Ashlea Gray   Swimming At the Queensland Sprints Swimming Championships Ashlea won the bronze medal in the Girls 16 years 50m breaststroke. She has represented the Darling Downs at the Schools State Championships and has been selected in the Queensland team to compete at the Age Nationals in Adelaide in the 100m & 200m breaststroke.
     
     
    Cooper Murray   Athletics Cooper competed at the Queensland Track & Field Championships where he came 5th in the triple jump with a distance of 11.19m. He competed at the Queensland All Schools Athletics Championships and won the silver medal in the triple jump and this qualified Cooper to compete at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships.
     
     
    Denika Murray   Athletics At the Queensland Athletics Championships, Denika won silver medals in the 16 years long jump with a jump of 5.56m, the triple jump with 11.12m and the 400m in 59.08 sec. She also won the bronze medal in the 200m and came 4th in the 100m. These performances have secured her a position on the Queensland team to compete at the Australian Track & Field Championships in April.
     
     
    Ruby Beasley   Swimming After her performance representing the Toowoomba Grammar Swimming Club at the State Swimming Championships, Ruby has qualified to represent Queensland at the Australian Swimming Championships to be held in Adelaide over Easter.
     
     
    Sam Wainwright   Athletics Sam competed in the Queensland Track & Field Championships where he won the silver medal in the 16 years long jump with a huge PB jump of 6.19m. He also won the bronze medal in the triple jump at these championships. These performances have earned Sam selection in the Queensland Track & Field team to compete at the National Championships.
     
     
    Flynn Edards   Softball Flynn has been selected in the Queensland Under 14 Boys Softball team to compete at the National Championships. Flynn is also a Level 1 Accredited Softball Umpire.
     
     
    Bobbie Hamlet   Hockey Bobbie has been selected as goalie of the Girls Under 18 Queensland hockey team 2 who will compete at the Australian Under 18 Girls Hockey Championships at Cairns in April. She has also been selected in the 13-19 years Darling Downs Schoolgirls Hockey Team to compete at the Queensland Championships at the Gold Coast.
     
     
    Oliver Colthup   Mountain Biking Oliver competed at the Auscycling National Downhill Mountain Biking Championships where he came 1st in the Under 15 Boys event. This performance has won him the title of the Australian Under 15 Downhill Champion.
     
     
    Jordon Fenton-Anderson   Futsal From her performance at the National Schools Futsal Invitational, Jordon was selected in the Queensland Elite 14 Girls Futsal team to travel to Fiji in June to play a tournament. At the Australian Clubs Futsal Championships Jordon won the Goalies Golden Glove award and was selected on the Allstars Team. She has received an invitation and the honour of representing Australia as part of the National 13/14 years girl’s futsal team to travel to the United Kingdom in October.
     
     
    TJ Samarawickrama   Cricket In the sport of Cricket TJ captained the Darling Downs 15 years schoolboys Cricket team and was selected in the Queensland Schoolboys 15 years Cricket team. TJ has also been selected in the Australian Under 14 Boys Futsal team to tour the UK.
     
     
    Bianca Daniel   Powerlifting Bianca competed at the Australian Powerlifting League State Championships, taking 1st place in the Under 67.5kg weight class, totaling 500kg (200kg squat, 100kg bench press & 200kg deadlift) and in doing so broke 4 State and 4 National records. She was named Best Overall Female of the Competition and qualified for the National Championships to be held later in the year.
     
     
    Eden Broksch   Cross Country & Athletics Eden came 1st in the Under 8 division at the Queensland All Schools Cross Country Championships at Ipswich, running a 1km race and came 2nd at the Queensland Athletics Cross Country Championships at Toogoolawah. She was also a member of the Queensland Girls Under 8 Cross Country Relay team who beat even the boy’s team to win the Championship. In the sport of Little Athletics Eden broke the following Toowoomba Little Athletics records for Under 8 girls: High Jump, Long Jump, Discus, 70, 100m & 200m.
     
     
    Stella Suey   Hockey Stella has been selected in the Queensland Under 15 Girls Hockey team to compete at the Australian Under 15 Girls Championships in Newcastle in April. At just 14 Stella is also a member of the Darling Downs Open Schoolgirls 13- 19 years Hockey Team.
     
     
    Oliver Nicol   Softball At just 13 years of age Oliver is a member of the Darling Downs 13-19 years Boys Softball team which shows his talent and dedication to the sport. He has also been selected in the Toowoomba & Queensland Under 14 Boys Softball teams.
     
     
    Daniel Burge   Hockey Dan has been selected in the Queensland Under 18 Men’s Hockey Team to compete at the Australian Under 18 Championships at Cairns in April.
     
     
    Timothy Hogno   Distance Running At the Queensland Athletics Cross Country Championships, Timothy finished 12th in the Boys 15 years 4km run and at the Queensland 10,000m race finished 5th in heat in the Under 20 division.
     
     
    Jonte Walker   Softball Jonte has been selected in the Darling Downs 13-19 years Boys Softball team and also the 14 years Boys Toowoomba Softball team. From his performances he showed in these teams he has been selected in the 14 years Boys Queensland Softball team.
     
     
    Bailey Harm   Swimming Bailey competed at the Queensland Swimming Sprint Championships in February where he won the gold medal in the Boys 13 years 50m breaststroke and silver in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke. Bailey has qualified for five events and will be representing Queensland at the Australian Age Swimming Championships in Adelaide in April.
     
     
    Mackenzi Schefe   Steeplechase & Triathlon Mackenzi decided to give steeplechase a go for the first time in January and after only a handful of jumps over a steeple at running training, Mackenzi placed well in the 2000m steeplechase event and achieved the qualifying time to compete at the National Athletics Championships in March. Triathlon is another sport Mackenzi has recently tried and from her performance at her first triathlon secured a place on the Darling Downs team to compete at Hervey Bay in the Queensland Triathlon Championships.
